Body Products

There are more components to wellness than food and fitness. Bath and body products are absorbed through your skin and affect your health.

You can learn about your products using the Think Dirty App.  This is a free app on smart phones. Scan your bath and body products in, or type in your product name. You may be surprised or even horrified to learn that most products, even those that claim to be safe for baby, natural or gentle actually contain neurotoxins and carcinogens, and maybe more than you would choose to put on your baby or yourself!

If you are concerned about the expense, I have a trick to make this amazingly beneficial soap go a long way, making it cost less that $1.00 per 16 oz bottle using a foaming soap pump. One 16 oz bottle of Shea Moisture Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil Baby Head-To-Toe Wash & Shampoo so that it makes 8  diluted foaming bottles of soap that I use for everything, from hand soap to shampoo, body wash, facial cleanser and shaving foam :-)

Make Your Own

Make Your Own

We use many essential oils to make our own toiletries. It does take a little bit of time but by making them ourself we know that the ingredients are non toxic and that the product itself is bettering our health.

Below you will find 2 recipes we use for anti-aging facial oil and moisturizing body butter. There are also links for each of the ingredients we use.

Anti-Aging Facial Oil

Directions:

Mix all together in small jar or pump container.  Use 2-3 drops morning and night. Shake container prior to each use

Moisturizing Body Butter
Moisturizing Body Butter
Directions:

Heat shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa butter over low heat stirring occasionally until all ingredients melt.  Once melted, place in refrigerator (or outside if it is cool out) for an hour.  Pour into a glass container that you will store your body butter in.  Add remaining ingredients and stir.  Stir well every 15 minutes or so until mixture becomes creamy and thick.(Likely 2 or 3 more times) and you are good to go!

This body butter will not only moisturize you, it will nourish your skin, detox your lymph system and elevate your mood!
